All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily Democrat 10 Sep 2005 Christine Odessa Covey,78 Services for Christine Odessa Covey, 78, of Calera, who passed away at her residence, Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, will be 2 p.m., Friday at Victory Life Church in Durant. Rev. Lee Armstrong will officiate. Christine was born Jan. 29, 1927, in Caddo to Jim and Sally (Hill) Covey. Christine lived in the Durant area most of her life and attended school in Durant and Cobb. She married M.E. "Pete" Covey March 7, 1966 in Las Vegas, Nev. Christine was a member of Victory Life Church, and her hobbies included bird watching, family and church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Christine was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Mattingly; her parents, Jim and Sally Covey; a son, Danny Mattingly; great- granddaughter Bailee Nichols; and all her siblings. Survivors include, husband M.E. "Pete" Covey, of the home; daughters, Charlotte Nichols and husband Joe, and Shana Handlang, all of Cartwright; grandsons Terry Keith and wife LaRonna, Kevin Keith, Joe Paul Nichols and wife Stacy, Kyle Gawrych, Robbie Mattingly and wife Dartania; granddaughters, Michelle Gorman and husband Randy, and Kristy Robertson; eight great-grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends. Family hour will be from 7- 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery with grandsons Terry Keith, Kevin Keith, Joe Paul Nichols and Robbie Mattingly, and also Randy Gorman and Michael Nelson serving as pall bearers.
