Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Ron Roberson will officiate. Internment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Wayne Cozbey was born August 19, 1931, in Durant, Oklahoma, and he passed away on May 28, 2003, in Bakersfield where he has resided for 58 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Leona Cozbey; sisters, Opal Carpenter and Lena Shoaf. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Cathy Cozbey; daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Jim Westley; son, Gary Cozbey; 6 grandchildren, James Westley, David Westley and his wife, Alicia; Dennis Westley, Amber and her husband, Chris Mormon, Gari Cozbey and Tyler Cozbey; 4 great-grandchildren, Kameron Westley, Arianna Westley, Gabriel Westley and Reilly Mormon; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Virgie Cozbey; loving brothers and sisters-in-law, May, Doris Shirley and Leon; and Melvin and Jodi; loving cousins, John and Betty, John and Jerry, and numerous loving nieces, nephews, great and great- great-nieces and nephews and great cousins. Wayne was a loving and caring husband, father and papa. He was a hard working carpenter for 40 years and he loved his profession. He enjoyed going camping in his motor-home and fishing. He was a member of the Higher Ground Church. He loved his pastor, Ron and sister, Pam Roberson. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
