Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. ----------------------------------------------------- THE DURANT DAILY DEMOCRAT JAN. 8, 1999 Thomas Coker, 68 Funeral services were held Jan. 2, 1999, in Rimrock, Ariz., for Thomas Coker, 68, who died Dec. 29, 1998. He was buried in Sedonia Cemetery in Rimrock. The son of Ellen Lucinda (Conway) Coker and Seth Tolbert Coker, he was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Durant. He attended Durant Schools. Mr. Coker was a member of the Infantry from February of 1947 through May of 1948. He was discharged to join the U.S. Navy where he served in the Korean War and afterward was sta-tioned in California and also served aboard USS Jason and at the Navy-Marine Reserve Training Center in Santa Monica, Calif and other assignments. He retired Aug. 1, 1969. After retirement he worked as an accountant, in construction as a carpenter, a plumber and a clerk and mail handler. In May of 1952, he married Norma Lee Ellis of Caddo. They were divorced. He later married Judy Gail Runyon on May 22, 1965, in Santa Ana, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Thelma Fleming and Virginia Nelson, and brothers Manco Coker, Conway Coker, James Coker and Rheubin Coker.
