Cole, 79, died Sunday, August 8, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating, and Max Browning, pastor, assisting. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Cole was born in Achille, Okla., where he attended schools. In 1946, he moved to Plainview, where he worked for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1987. He served with the Army during World War II and was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite. He married Sally Teague in 1988 at Plainview. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Craig Cole of Friendswood and Jim Teague of Concord, Calif.; a daughter, Amelia Cline of Plainview; a brother, Jesse "Shorty" Cole of Lubbock; two sisters, Lucrecia Hanna of Amarillo and Ann Grant of Hemet, Calif.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
