All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily Democrat Sunday, August 10, 2003 Todd David Evane Claypool Todd David Evane Claypool, son of Dr. David and Shareen Claypool, Durant, was born Nov. 9, 1978, in Spokane, Wash., and died suddenly in Provo, Utah, on July 28, 2003. He was buried next to his sister Heather on Aug. 1, 2003, in Spokane, Wash. A memorial will be held for him 6:30 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Durant. Todd graduated from Durant High School in 1997. He was an active member of the band, choir and tennis teams. As a senior, he was the Oklahoma Piano Champion from more than 3,500 entries. He went to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, for a semester, and then went on a two-year mission to Uruguay. He distinguished himself there by preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, wrote, produced and directed the choir and orchestra for the dedication of the temple in Uruguay with more than 5,000 in attendance. He then returned to Provo to continue his education in predentistry with a music major. He was a member of the elite BYU men's honor choir. Todd produced and directed all the music for the Utah Honorary Show. He also accompanied Miss America Charlene Webb. A professional music director had already talked to him about writing and producing music. He furthermore played the organ at the Provo Tabernacle. Todd was known for his Christ-like love and devotion to a multitude of people. His kind heart, generosity and love were known throughout the campus. BYU flew the flag for one day at half-mast due to his death. Todd will be greatly missed.
