All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bakersfield Californian Lottie Jane Cummings 10/17/1902 9/1/2002 Graveside services will be conducted for Lottie Jane Cummings at Shafter Memorial Park, at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, September 4, 2002. A Memorial service will follow at Valley Bible Church in Shafter at 11 a.m. Pastor Mike Polley will officiate at the service. Lottie was born on October 17, 1902, in Matoy, Oklahoma to Baxter and Miranda Gray. Lottie graduated from Matoy School, and on May 16, 1920, became the bride of Mack Cummings. The couple and their children moved to Shafter in 1941. Lottie was a devoted wife and mother, and although she had many outside interests, her main focus in life was her family. Lottie was a very active woman and was a lifetime honorary member of the Shafter Womens Club, she was a member of AARP, and she volunteered at Shafter Senior Citizens. As a homemaker she enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting, quilting and her flower garden. Lottie was a member of the Valley Bible Church in Shafter. Lottie was preceded in death by her husband, Mack who passed away October 1, 1946; her son, Allie Mack; a newborn. She is survived by her sons, Ray and wife, Elvina, Earl and wife, Sylvia, Bill and wife, Jane; daughters, Lois and husband, Frank Gregg, Charlene Parsons, LaVerne Hiebert; sister, Leona Haley; 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 35 great-great- grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great-grandchild. Lottie accomplished much throughout her life, and will be remembered fondly by family and friends. A Memorial Fund has been established in Lottie Cummings honor at the Valley Bible Church.
