All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily Democrat - 15 Oct 2004 Lois Bernice Cargal, 82 Lois Bernice Cargal, 82, Madill, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at the hospital in Madill. She was born April 2, 1922, in Cade to the late Jim Wesley and John Ann Miles Burns. She was raised in Cade and later lived in the Bennington and Bokchito area. In December of 1957, she moved from Albany to Madill, where she lived the rest of her life. She married Hoyt Chick Cargal Dec. 17, 1949, in Bokchito. He preceded her in death Dec. 4, 1986. She retired after 20 years of employment at the Madill Pants Factory. She was a member and was very involved the United Pentecostal Church. She also enjoyed homemaking, cooking, ceramics and her dog, Libby. She is survived by daughter Phyllis Worley, Madill; sons John Cargal, Mannsville, Chick E. Cargal, Mannsville; step-daughters Mildred Clark, Durant, Deanne Tarrant, Ft. Worth, Texas, Linnie Gray, Norman, Carolyn Urlich, Garrison, Texas; step-son Hoyt Cargal, Bethany, Houston Cargal, Ardmore; sisters Dessie Burns, Santa Rosa, Calif., Johnnie Jeffcoats, Durant, Jeannie Sherrod, Durant, Jimmie Ann Notion, Dallas, Texas; brothers Calvin Taylor, Fresno, Calif., Billy Jo Taylor, Denison, Texas, Sam Taylor, Merced, Calif., 16 grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son James French, daughter Francis Arden, step-son Kenneth Cargal and step-daughter Hazel Garner. Family hour will be from 6:30 - 8 p.m. today at Watts memorial Chapel, Madill. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Pentecostal Church, Madill. Paul Dowdy and Danny Maples will officiate the service. Music will be arranged by Jessie and Sharon Robinson. Interment will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill.
