She passed away on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at Texoma Medical Center. Ruby lived a wonderful life that revolved around her love of God, her family and her friends. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who always had a kind word, a warm hug and room at her table for one more. Ruby enjoyed square dancing and music, watching movies, piecing quilts and playing games on her computer, but most of all, she enjoyed lunch with her friends at "the Center" and shopping with Thelma and Sue. In a journal to her grandchildren, Ruby wrote, "Our life is probably not what you would call exciting, as we never traveled to far-off places, never saw beautiful things, but we really didn't have to, we had it all in our own back yard. Every day of our lives was a new experience. I guess we just weren't smart enough to know we were missing anything. Having our family and being together was excitement enough." Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Norvil Cranford, her parents, brothers Oather Gray, Arte Gray, Joel Gray, Arlie Gray and an infant sister. She is survived by sisters Mary "Sis" Kee, Hector, Ark., Inez Sims and Ethel Hackworth, both of Garland, Texas. Ruby and Norvil were married on Oct. 5, 1935, in Ada, Oklahoma.
