Tate Chamberlain 1920 ~ 2007 Wanda L. Tate Chamberlain passed away on November 17, 2007 after a long battle with congestive heart failure. Wanda was born November 16, 1920 in Durrant, Oklahoma to Earl and Zella Trimmer Tate. At age 16, Wanda left high school to marry Horace (Lucky) Chamberlain. They moved to California just before World War II where Wanda began working in the canneries and then at Union Oil and the shipyards. While Lucky served in the army, she began her Civil Service career at Benicia Arsenal. In 1962 when the Benicia Arsenal was closed, they transferred to Tooele Army Depot in Utah and Wanda began work in the payroll office where she later became chief of the Finance and Accounting Division. With children of high school age, she decided it was time she also returned to school. In 1968 she and her son received their high school diplomas. Wanda was a kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved her family and always put them first. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years. She is survived by her children, Karen Bryan, Robert Chamberlain (DiAnn), Debra Selz (Klint Iverson) and Judy Schiers (David). She has 12 grandchildren, Anastasia, Todd, Dusty, Cameo, Hollie, Elizabeth, Laura, Kayleigh, Melanie, Blake, Dallin, and Dexter. She also has three great grandchildren, Kira, Jacob and Gage. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Tate Mortuary in Tooele. Viewing will be held at 9:30-10:45 that same day. Interment, Tooele City Cemetery.
