Gaines Alvin Deel

QUANAH - Gaines Alvin Deel, 88, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel 
with Derrell Surface, minister of First Assembly of God Church, officiating. 
Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park.


Mr. Deel was born in Leonard. He moved to Quanah 32 years ago from Oklahoma. 
He retired as a carpet layer. He was Baptist.


He married Willie Jean Pirtle in 1930 at Durant, Okla. He was preceded in 
death by two sons and two daughters.


Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard Deel of Childress; two daughters, 
Dorothy Deel and Jane Paine, both of Quanah; 14 grandchildren; and a 
greatgrandchild.
