Monday, October 27, 2003 Durant Daily Democrat Pansy Lou Downey, 74 A service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel for Pansy Lou Downey, 74, Durant, who died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. The Rev. Dale Ballard will officiate. She was born Oct. 14, 1929, in Wilson, to Author and Aliene (Killem) Beauford. She attended schools in Wilson and Duncan. She married Hugh Downey June 18, 1950, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She lived in Oklahoma all her life, except during the times she was with her husband in his military service. She was a member of the National Skeet Shooting Association. She won many honors and in 1962 tied for the husband and wife team championship in Europe. She was a member of Roberta Baptist Church. She was in total support of her husband during his 27 year military career. She took excellent care of her children during the absence of their father on overseas assignments. She provided a loving and caring home at all times. She was the force that kept her family together in all situations. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Bill Beauford. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with pallbearers Sam Hill, Desmond Signs, Hugh Hill, Coy Dean Simmons, Bo Jarrett and David Fulbright. Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Sprouse. Family hour is 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
