Dansby, Arthur Dovard

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 21, from 5-8 p.m. at Mish 
Funeral Home in Oildale. A celebration of life for Rev. Arthur Dansby 
will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd, 10:00 a.m., at First United 
Pentecostal Church, 1418 W. Columbus, Bakersfield, CA. Graveside 
services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Arthur was born in 
Kenefic, Oklahoma to Isom Daniel and Hattie Lee Dansby. In 1937, he 
married Marie Weddel, and together they raised nine children. He 
moved the family to California in 1945, and served over 50 years as 
an ordained minister in the United Pentecostal Church. Rev. Dansby 
was preceded in death by brothers, Isom Daniel (I.D.), Leonard, and 
William Dansby; and sister, Lucille Dansby. He is survived by two 
sisters, Peggy Tony and Ethel Brumley. He leaves his wife, Marie; and 
all nine children: Charles and wife, Louann; Leroy and wife, 
Paulette; Joanna and husband, Leon; daughter, Geraldine; Jerry and 
wife, Gayla; Naomi and husband, Ted; Nathan and wife, Laura; Rebekah 
and husband, Raymond; Arthur Ray and wife, Diane. Also surviving are 
22 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great 
grandchildren. Grandchildren serving as pallbearers include: Chuck 
Dansby, David Lee Dansby, Eric Dansby, Jerry Paul Dansby, Levi 
Dansby, Nathan Paul Dansby, Phillip Dansby, Seth Dansby, Christopher 
Harris, Galen Harris, Jason Huffaker, Randy Siebert, and Raymond 
Siebert. Arthur Dovard Dansby July 5, 1913 to May 19, 2007
