THELMA ELLISON SUCCUMBS From the Durant Daily Democrat No date on clipping Mrs. Thelma Haley Ellison, formerly of Durant, died suddenly Saturday morning in Caddo. She was 34 years of age. Although her death was unexpected, she had been in poor health for two years. Mrs. Ellison was born and reared here, and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George R. Haley. She was married May 18, 1941 to Lewis Ellison, of Oklahoma City. Mrs. Ellison was for years a member of the First Methodist Church. Rev. R.T. Blackburn, pastor, will conduct the funeral service Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock in Holmes chapel, assisted by Rev. A.S. Eggner, of Caddo. Burial will be at Highland. Survivors include the husband, four brothers, Earl Haley of Durant; Jake Haley of Enid; Jim Haley of McAlester; Carter Haley of Greenville, Texas, and four sisters, Mrs. E. H. Fox, of Lake Charles, La.; Mrs. Arthur Stephens, of Roswell, N.M.; Mrs. Stanley Stevens, of Bonham, Tex.; and Mrs. Fred Washington, Caddo. Pallbearers will be Clay Anderson, Hal Malone, Shipman Bullard, J.M. Miller, Jr., Jess Maytubby and Carl Petty. NOTE: Thelma Haley Ellison, according to Mrs. Fred Washington, her sister, funeral home and family Bible records, died 15 April 1944 and was buried 16 April 1944.
