Erskin, 73 Services are pending and will be announced by Cunningham Funeral Home in Caddo for Charles L. Erskin, 73, Bokchito, who died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, in Parkland Hospital, Dallas, Texas. ========= Charles Laffette 'Jim Bowie' Erskin, 73 A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Durant for Charles Laffette "Jim Bowie" Erskin, 73, Bokchito, who died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, at Parkland Hospital, Dallas, Texas. Pastor George Brown will officiate. He was born Sept. 23, 1931, in Monroe, La., to Ozie and Dessie King Erskin. He married Joyce Ryburn Jan. 1, 1982, in Hugo. Going home to be with his Lord, he was a member and deacon of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Durant. He was a Bryan County resident for the past 45 years. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife and her children Beverly, Cynthia, David, Kenneth, Rosa, Becky and Clifton, who loved him dearly. Also surviving are son Charles Edward Erskin, Blue; daughters Rhonda Kay Miller, Bokchito, and Debra Jean Erskin, Blue; brother Don Erskin and wife Liddie, Bokchito; grandchildren Annette, Sylvia, Allen, Melissa, Steven, Megan, and Jasin; great-grandchildren Hanna, Holly, Christopher, and Emily; and one niece and two nephews. Burial will be in Bokchito Cemetery, Bokchito with John Teel, Dale Ford, Paul Bears, Woody Heflin, Alton Culbreath, Steven Morgan, Jasin Parker and Louie Schneider serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Phillips, Don Davis, Stanley Brock, David Owens, George Rose and Jim Cross. Family hour will be from 3-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
