Durant Daily Democrat Sunday, January 25, 2004 Robert C. ‘Bob’ Freeny, 82 A service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church for Robert C. ‘Bob’ Freeny, 82, Caddo, who died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. The Rev. Terry Thomas will officiate. He was born Saturday, Nov. 19, 1921, in Freeny Valley, Bryan County, to Homer M. and Margaret (Griggs) Freeny. He married Margaret Elizabeth Hoffman Aug. 25, 1945, in Toms River, N.J. He moved back to Caddo after serving in the Marines during World War II at Pearl Harbor and working as a drilling supervisor in the oil field. He was a member of the VFW and Pearl Harbor Association. He loved fishing and ranching. He was a member of Caddo United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, brother Keotah Freeny and sister Ida Lee Price. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Caddo, with pallbearers John Freeny, David Szanasi, Clay Freeny, Stuart Freeny, Andrew Freeny, Mark Mackinich, Barbara Ann Freeny, Vivia Lock Artz and William Hasse. Family hour is 7-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
