M. FRENCH Funeral services were Saturday morning for L. M. French, father of Allen French, Madill. Mr. French died Thursday in an Ardmore hospital following a serious illness of about three weeks. He moved to Durant about 1910 when Southeastern Teachers college was opened there and attended the school. On September 15, 1914, he was married to Miss Doraidelle Fuller in Durant and they made their home there until 1943 when they moved to Oklahoma City. Burial was in the Highland cemetery in Durant with Watts Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. In addition to his son, Allen, Madill, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary Jo Small, Wheaton, Ill., Mrs. Jane Semple and Mrs. Jean Hurd, both of Durant. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Velma Rierdon and Mrs. Audria Acers, both of Oklahoma City, and a brother, A. L. French, Elida, N. Mex. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren. Pallbearers at the service were Earl Ragsdale, O. O. Remmington, Roy Lockhart, Harold Jones, Lum Loffer, Dr. J. F. York, Bill Bond and Jim Davis. In 1946 they moved to Madill and made their home here. Mrs. French preceded him in death, passing away, February 11, 1961. He had been a member of the Baptist church for many years and served as a deacon for the church in Durant for several years. Services were Saturday morning in the Watts Memorial Chapel with Rev.
