Medford (OR) Mail Tribune 04-24-2001 The memorial service for Weldon 'Tex' Franklin Goodin will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. A representative of Veterans for Veterans will officiate. Mr. Goodin, 69, of Medford, died Friday (April 20, 2001) at his home. Memorial contributions may be made to Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation Hospice, 2600 Siskiyou Blvd., Suite 100, Medford, OR 97504. He was born May 30, 1931, in Yukon, OK, the son of Chester Thomas and Ethyl Mae Weat Goodin. He graduated from Caddo High School in Oklahoma. On May 20, 1956, in Medford, he married Joan Pence, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1967 from Vancouver, WA. Mr. Goodin was a pipe fitter for fire protection and sprinkler systems. He owned and operated Pacific Fire Sprinklers for seven years before retiring in 1994. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Goodin was a member of the Tyee Bow Club and was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed water skiing, camping, woodworking and welding. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Shane, Medford, and Gary, Mililani, HI; two daughters, Melanie Worsham and Lori Lawson, both Medford; two brothers, Delton, Baytown, TX, and Eldon, Marionville, MO; his step-mother, Bess Goodin, Cleveland, TX; and 11 grandchildren.
