Hackworth, 87, Kemp, who died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Marshall Memorial Hospital, Madill. Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling arrangements. ============= Durant Daily Democrat Wednesday, January 7, 2004 Joseph W. Hackworth, 87 A service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Kemp Church of Christ for Joseph W. Hackworth, 87, Hendrix, who died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Marshall Memorial Hospital, Madill. Bro. Jerry Fisher will officiate. He was born Wednesday, Nov. 1, 1916, in Ridgeway, Texas, to Ira Homer and Zora (Mantooth) Hackworth. He married Rose Marie Mock. He served in the U.S. Army three years during World War II and worked as an aircraft mechanic. He was a member of Kemp Church of Christ, enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ira, Marshall, Freeman, Willie Ray and Jimmy Hackworth, and sisters Frances Muylle, Pansy Fox and Wilma DeLashaw. Burial will be in Kemp Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers.
