After the introductory words and prayer by the Rev. R.T. Blackburn, pastor of the church, Rev. Wm. N. Scholl, pastor of the First Presbyter- ian Church, read the scripture, taken from the New Testament. The choir sang "Asleep in Jesus". Rev. J. A. Old, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Gainsville, Texas, an uncle of the deceased, offered words of consolation to the be- reaved family and sorrowing friends. He likened her life to the beauti- ful talisman rose, the perfectly made white lily, and the exquisite sweetpea, all something rare and beautiful. "Her whole life had been of beauty, with ambition, hope and a keen desire to live. Her future hope had been to get well and take charge of the home that was soon to have been hers. In her readings of the Bible, she had found the hope and faith she needed to guide her through the hours," said Reverend Old. Following Reverend Old's beautiful, simple and impressive words, the choir sang "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be".
