Durant Daily Democrat Friday, March 5, 2004 James Hankey, 86 Services are pending with Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home for James Hankey, 86, Caddo, who died Friday, March 5, 2004, at Four Seasons Nursing Home in Durant. =========== Durant Daily Democrat Sunday, March 7, 2004 James Lowell Hankey, 86 A service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home Chapel for James Lowell Hankey, 86, Kenefic, who died Friday, March 5, 2004, at Four Seasons Nursing Home in Durant . The Rev. Doug Bowen will officiate. He was born Wednesday, Jan. 9, 1918, in Collin County, Texas, to James Samuel and Lillian Eslie (Reid) Hankey. He married Rosa Lee (Brumley) July 20, 1941, in Durant. He was a mail carrier, professor and rancher. He received his bachelor of arts from Murray State College, Panhandle State, and received a master’s degree from Oklahoma State University. He was a rural mail carrier, a farmer/rancher and a professor at Panhandle State. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Italy and North Africa. He was a member of the Nida Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing dominos. He was preceded in death by his parents. Family hour will be 4-5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with pallbearers Jack Sawyer, Gary Hammel, Steve Gray, Danny Hankey, Don Hankey, Stanley Hankey, Chris Hankey and Bret Turner.
