Friday, October 10, 2003 Durant Daily Democrat Loyd Gene Hankins, 60 A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, between Durant and Caddo, for Loyd Gene Hankins, 60, Sherman, Texas, who died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born Nov. 9, 1942, in Paris, Texas, to L. J. and Katie Mae (Tyree) Hankins. He attended school in Yuba and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. By trade, he was a journeyman electrician. He was also a martial arts instructor in Durant, Sherman and the surrounding area for more than 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will be at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. today.
