All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Fairlawn Cemetery--Snyder OK Durant Daily Democrat 15 Mar 2005 Joseph Luther 'Joe' Hamilton, 72 A funeral service for Joseph Luther "Joe" Hamilton, 72, Durant, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ, Snyder, with his brother-in-law Hilton Crain of Arlington, Texas, officiating. He died Saturday in a Durant hospital. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder, under the direction of Becker Funeral Home of Snyder. He was born Jan. 1, 1933, in Bokchito to Harvey and Elizabeth Hamilton. At the age of 14 he worked at the John Deere dealership in Synder, and he worked there for 20 years. He married Peggy Marsh June 1, 1951, in Altus. He owned and operated the Hamilton Garage in Snyder from 1967 to 1975. He moved to Bokchito in October 1975, where he raised cattle. He lived in Atoka County for 12 years before retiring and moving to Durant. Survivors include wife Peggy, of the home; son Randy and wife Jeanne, Durant; daughters Tannah Abernathy-Tillman and Bill, Snyder, Terry Falen and husband Ray, Yukon, and Dee Ann Ballew and husband Dan, Durant; grandchildren Lisa Cross, Rayna Falen, Jennifer Horton, Jodi Hamilton, Lynsey and Haley Ballew and Trevor Hamilton; great-grandchildren Cassidy and Cagan Cross; and sister Ann Moore and husband Jimmy, Snyder. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Austin Falen, brothers Bill, Dock, Dee, Lem, David and Alf and sisters Polly, Ruth, Leona and May.
