Durant Daily Democrat Wednesday, February 11, 2004 Lester Albert Hanneman, 81 A wake and rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Oklahoma City, for Lester Albert Hanneman, 81, Oklahoma City, who died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, and burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. =========== Durant Daily Democrat Thursday, February 12, 2004 Lester Albert Hanneman, 81 Lester Albert Hanneman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother and friend was born September 25, 1922, and passed from this life on February 9, 2004. Lester graduated from Union City High School in 1940 and went on to serve his country as a S. Sergeant in the European Theater during WWII. When the war was over, Lester came home and married the love of his life, Theresa. They continued to have a caring and loving relationship for 56 years and provided a warm and loving home for their children. Lester was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 39 years. He was such a loyal dedicated employee that he only missed one day of work the entire 39 years. Lester held the title of Cable Foreman when he retired. Before and after his retirement he lovingly and meticulously crafted exquisite furniture, toys and other items for his children, grandchildren and other family members as well as some charities. Lester loved his family and friends and in return the love was returned ten-fold. Lester was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He never expressed resentment or malice to anyone. His courage and determination was an inspiration to all who knew him. He constantly amazed his family by his ability to solve a problem or find a way to repair something that seemed beyond hope. He was a Charter member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church and was active in helping with the actual construction of the church. He was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Ida Hanneman, brothers Ralph, Paul, and August and sister, Theresa Ninman. Wake and Rosary Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. today, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a..m. Friday, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 19th and N. Portland. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
