Survivors omitted. Sunday, September 28,2003 Durant Daily Democrat Ferrell M. Herndon, 63 A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Oakland Cemetery, Madill, for Ferrell M. Herndon, 63, Durant, who died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at his residence. Chaplain Jeff Davis will officiate. He was born Oct. 25, 1939, in Madill, to Price S. and Iola Mae (Turner) Herndon. He graduated Kingston High School in 1957, then attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He served in the U.S. Army, B Battery, 6th Missile Battalion, 562 Artillery HAWK, Bad Hersfield, Germany. He received his Marksmanship Metal and later served in the Army Reserve until 1968. He worked at the Johnson Mansfield plant in Denison for 30 years as a shipping clerk and at Chickasaw Pointe Golf Course for five years as a greenskeeper. He married Glynda Jane Brown Aug. 2, 1958, in Madill. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, making stained glass, gardening, doing crosswords and was an avid reader. He was a member of the Dayspring Church of Christ and will be greatly missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter Michelle Herndon; in-laws A. E. ‘Aus’ and Annie Brown. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery with pallbearers Ron Gates, Phillip Newton, Joe Littlejohn, Gary Dominick, Alan Foster, Mike Podaney, Frank Pershica, Curtis Ferrell, Chuck and Dr. Peter Hedburg.
