All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Highland Cemetery--Durant OK Durant Daily Democrat 22 Feb 2005 Frances Harmon, 94 Frances "Fran" Elizabeth Brady Harmon, 94, passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at Oak Ridge Nursing Home. Services will be at St. William's Catholic Church Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Deacon Albert Miller officiating and arrangements by Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home. Frances was born July 12, 1910, in Madison, Wisconsin, daughter of John F. and Margaret Clomes Brady. She attended East High School, Madison, and earned a home economics degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1923. She was preceded in death by parents and husband, Joe T. Harmon. The family moved to Durant in 1948. They owned the Rio Ice Cream Restaurant on North First. She is survived by sisters Margaret B. Farrell, Mary Lucille Meehan (deceased); sons Dr. Jim S. Harmon, Durant, and Tom J. Harmon and wife Betty, League City, Texas; grandsons Mark, James and wife Alexandra and daughter Grace Frances, San Antonio, Texas, deceased grandson John and his son Andrew. Into her 80s, Mrs. Harmon walked to daily Mass every day of Lent. She is a past president of the Altar Society and fervently prayed the rosary daily. She served as a volunteer in numerous community programs. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be members of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity.
