All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Highland Cemetery--Durant OK Durant Daily Democrat 25 Feb 2005 Lillian 'Lillie' Herman, 85 A service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Coffey-Murray Chapel for Mrs. Lillian "Lillie" Herman, 85, who passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, in Durant at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. Rev. Anthony Williams will officiate. Lillian "Lillie" Herman was born on Thursday, May 26, 1919, in Caddo to Willie Clarence and Nancy (Bumpass) Blackburn. Lillie married Bob Herman Feb. 5, 1938, in Durant. He passed away March 18, 2000. Mrs. Herman was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church, formerly in Blue. Lillie loved to tend her vegetable garden and cook meals for her family. She also enjoyed going fishing and being around her family. Lillie was a nurse at the Bryan Memorial Hospital for a number of years. She is survived by sister Rosa Lee Bourne, Durant; brother Roy Blackburn and wife Lazona, Colorado Springs, Colo.; sisters-in-law Frankie Herman, Soper, Minnie Herman, Mosier, Ore., and Beulah Herman, Hood River, Ore.; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends, as well as many sons and daughters that she adopted in her heart. Mrs. Herman was preceded in death by her parents, Willie "Poopa" and Nancy "Nanny" Blackburn; husband in 2000; sister Jennie Mae Pierot; and brothers Morris and Clarence Blackburn. Family hour will be from 6-7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Darrel Rigdon, David Herman, Randy Herman, Luther Herman, Dennis Bragg and Joe Blackburn will serve as pallbearers.
