All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Democrat 11 Nov 2004 Franklin Daniel (Sonny) Jeffreys Franklin Daniel Jeffreys (Sonny) of Caney, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday morning, November 9, 2004. Services were Thursday, November I I at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Caney with Pastor Tony Fields and Chaplain Charles Howard. Franklin was born March 5, 1933, in Bokchito, Oklahoma to Frank T. Jeffreys and Lula Mae Compton Jeffreys. He retired from General Motors in Arlington, Texas, after twenty-one years of service. He lived in Ft. Worth, Texas, for 37 years before returning to his Oklahoma roots to raise cattle and enjoy life. He attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and made many friends in the Caney community. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Delena Ann Jeffreys; sisters Judy Carol Jeffreys, Lima Lee Jeffreys, and Stella Nichols (Miller); and one brother, Clyde Max Jeffreys. Survivors include his beloved wife of fifty-one years, Helen Hawkins Jeffreys of Caney, Okahoma; brother, Jerry Wayne Jeffreys of Bokchito, Oklahoma; daughters Vickie Ibarra of Caney, Oklahoma, Molly Redmond and husband Lance of Burleson, Texas, Danette Ellis of Bedford, Texas; two granddaughters DeeAnn Harmon and husband Shawn of Watauga, Texas, Caitlin Ellis of Bedford; two grandsons Jordan Aldava of Durant, Oklahoma and Sterling Ellis of Keller, Texas; and great-grandchildren Jacob and Emily Harmon, Watauga, Texas. He is also survived by a large extended family including one aunt, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends who each had a special and loving relationship with Franklin/Sonny/Daddy/Papaw/Uncle Son/Cuz.
