Durant Daily Democrat Tuesday, December 16, 2003 Mary Jo Jackson, 50 A service will be at 2 p.m today at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel for Mary Jo Jackson, 50, Oklahoma City, who died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at South Park Nursing Home, Oklahoma City. Chris Webb will officiate. She was born July 17, 1953, in Durant, to J.D. and Betty (Jones) Jackson. She attended Kingston and Madill schools, Orchard Park in Moore, and attended and worked at the Dale Rodgers Training Center and Workshop in Oklahoma City from 1973 to May 2002. She also participated in the Special Olympics for 30 years. She lived at Meadow Brook Acres Group Home from 1992 until entering a nursing home in 2002 and attended the South Gate Baptist Church in Moore. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Pete and Annie Jackson, Dee and Carrie Jones, and her father. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Durant, with pallbearers Jeff Jackson, Greg Jackson, Rod Jackson, Urian Weaver, Robert Anderson and Kenny Sexton. Mary Jo was one of God’s Special Children, who never met a stranger and was loved by everyone who met her. She will be greatly missed by everyone.
