Durant Daily Democrat Sunday, December 28, 2003 Luke Jackson, 57 Services are pending with Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home for Luke Jackson, 57, Caddo, who died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. =========== Durant Daily Democrat Monday, December 29, 2003 Luke Jackson, 57 A service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Chapel for Luke Jackson, 57, Caddo, formerly of Sherman, Texas, who died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. The Rev. Gene Skiles will officiate. He was born Friday, March 29, 1946, in Durant, to Oran Harlan and Vera Mae (Crossland) Jackson. He graduated Caddo High School in 1964. After attending Southeastern Oklahoma State University and pursuing a graphic design degree, he went to work in law enforcement in 1969, in Sherman. After working as an officer for the Sherman Police Department, he worked several years as a deputy for the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department. He also worked for Hale Trailer Manufacturing. He developed partnerships and interests in several different endeavors allowing him to live in Caddo the past few years to care for his parents. He was a member of Caddo Masonic Lodge No. 3, served in the Oklahoma National Guard and was a member of Caddo First Baptist Church. He enjoyed painting, doing crafts, reading, spending time with his grandson and visiting with friends. During the time he was in law enforcement, he was chosen to be on the Governor’s Marksmanship Team. He was preceded in death by his mother. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Caddo, with members of Caddo Masonic Lodge No. 3 serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Carroll and all other member of Caddo Masonic Lodge No. 3. Family hour is 6-8 pm. today at the Funeral Home.
