Jones, 86 A service will be at 3 p.m. today at Northwest Church of Christ, Durant, for Lewis E. Jones, 86, Durant, who died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. Bros. Ed Hull and Joe Maxson will officiate. He was born Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1917, in Honey Grove, Texas, to Edwin Kirby and Beulah (Locridge) Jones. He married Vera M. Vincent Jan. 24, 1937, in Honey Grove and came to Durant in 1949. He was a retired auto mechanic and a member of Northwest Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Cambell and Frank Jones, and nephews Tom and Bill Jones. He is survived by his wife, Durant; daughter Marcy Wingard, Fort Worth, Texas; granddaughter Vicky Kennedy, Fort Worth; grandson David Kennedy, Cisco, Texas; two great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Caddo, with pallbearers Calvin Gordon, Paul Mauck, Fred Mashburn, Mickey Davis, David Herron, Dan Heil, Charlie Davis and Nathan White. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Thomas, Neal Taylor, Vester Dereberry, David Parker, Kirby Jones, Don Duncan, Jim Taylor, James Shields, Virgil Sowell and E.F. Hawkins.
