Durant Daily Democrat Wednesday, January 7, 2004 Lola Johnson, 85 Services are pending with Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home for Lola Johnson, 85, Durant, who died Tuesday, Jan. 6, at her residence. ============= Durant Daily Democrat Thursday, January 8, 2004 Lola Belle Johnson, 85 A service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Seventh and Beech Church of Christ for Lola Belle Johnson, 85, Durant, who died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at her residence. Bro. John Curtis will officiate. She was born Wednesday, Feb. 6, 1918, in Mead, to Arthur and Annie Sue (Davidson) Reddick. She married Clayton Johnson Nov. 2, 1942, in Durant. She graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a master’s in teaching. She taught English and literature for many years. She was a member of the Teacher’s Association and Seventh and Beech Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, tending her roses and cooking for her family. Her love and joy was her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Lucille Davis. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with pallbearers Donald Henison, James Coats, Gene Black, Charles Villines, A.T. Johnson and David Longwell. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandson. Family hour is 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
