Ladd, 94, Smithville, who died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, in Smithville. He was the father of Thelma Loftis, Calera. ========= Durant Daily Democrat Friday, December 12, 2003 Mark Austin ‘Bogger’ Ladd, 94 A service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home for Mark Austin ‘Bogger’ Ladd, 94, who died in his sleep Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at his residence near Smithville. Bro. Ron Ladd will officiate. He was born Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1909, in Lone Oak to James Marion and Edna Mae (Duer) Ladd. He married Dessa Ruth Cleveland Nov. 9, 1925, in Sherman, Texas. The couple raised their family in Durant. He was a longtime member of the Durant First Baptist Church. He worked for Milling Company as a Cotton Compress. He loved gardening and raising small animals, especially ‘Odd Ball’ chickens. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 65 years in 1989; infant sister Tanna Lee Ladd; brothers Jewel and Earl Ladd, and a half brother Clarence Terry. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with pallbearers Terry Ladd, Rick Ladd, Bill Ladd, Jeff Loftis, John Loftis, Allen Ladd, Crockett Ladd and Mike Ladd.
