Lilley DURANT, Okla. - Hubert J. Lilley, 77, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Koonce and Roy Boatner officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery by Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home. Mr. Lilley was born in Durant. He had been a lifelong resident of Durant and Bryan counties. He attended Roberta, Blue and Durant schools. He graduated from Utica High School. He married Eula Faye Mattingly in 1944 at Durant. Mr. Lilley worked at the CCC Camp for two years before going into the military. He served with the Army during World War II. He was wounded in New Guinea and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a mail carrier and a rural mail carrier in Durant for 37 years before retiring. He was a member of the Veterans Association, the Disabled American Veterans and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Mr. Lilley was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and was ordained as a deacon there in 1949. He also served as chairman of the board of deacons, Sunday school director, training union director and director of several Sunday school departments. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Dean Lilley, in 1976. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Darla Lilley Edgmon of Oklahoma City and Shirlene Lilley of Lubbock, Texas; three brothers, Eugene Lilley of Mead, and Boyd Lilley and Barnett Lilley, both of Durant; a sister, Vella Lilley Adams of Northridge, Calif.; two grandsons; and three great- grandchildren. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests memorials be to the Calvary Baptist Church parking lot fund or steeple fund, P.O.
