Thursday, October 2, 2003 Durant Daily Democrat Jay Massey, 85 Services are pending with Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home for Jay Massey, 85, Sherman, Texas, who died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at North Central Medical Center, McKinney, Texas. =========== Monday, October 6, 2003 Durant Daily Democrat Jay Massey, 85 A service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Chapel for Jay Massey, 85, Sherman, Texas, who died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at North Central Medical Center, McKinney, Texas. The Rev. Brian Sterbenz will officiate. The son of Gus Roland and Nancy Elizabeth (Duckworth) Massey, he was born Saturday, Feb. 23, 1918, in Achille. Massey attended Durant High School and Russell School. He was a distributor for Rich Coffee Products. He loved to rebuild old cars and was involved with antique car clubs. He served our country in the 45th Division of the Oklahoma National Guard and the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was of the Methodist faith. Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers Overton Massey and Jack Massey; sisters Esther Massey, Lou Bell Killion, Linna Pierce and Mildred Fry. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Durant, with Patrick Massey, Alan Massey, Keegan Massey, Chance Massey, Mathew Hall and David Hall serving as pallbearers.
