All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Old Talihina Cemetery--Talihina OK Durant Daily Democrat 4 oct 2004 Ruth Ramona McDonald, 63 Services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Rock Creek Gymnasium,, in Blue, for Ruth Ramona McDonald, 63, Durant, who died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 at Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma, Durant. Rev. Anthony Williams and Rev. Roddy Arnold officiated. McDonald was born Jan. 16, 1941, to Earl Edward and Nellie Elizabeth (Benner) McDonald in Booker. She married Bill Crain in Sparta, N.C. A resident of Bryan County since 1990, McDonald enjoyed country music, and at one time was a member of the Loretta Lynn Fan Club. She loved rodeos and traveling. Her greatest accomplishment was her daughter Ramona. McDonald was preceded in death by her parents; and sister Loretta McDonald. McDonald is survived by daughter Ramona and husband, Jeffery, Mead; sisters Marie Schnollinger and husband Bill, of Missouri, Colleen Killion and husband Fred, of California, Jean Lofland and husband Lloyd, of North Carolina, Rita Bartee and husband Ray, of Tennessee, Kathleen Norman and husband Dick, of Florida, Stella Foster and husband Gerald, of Texas; brothers Bart McDonald and wife Faye, of Texas, Tom McDonald and wife, Barbara, of California, Jack McDonald and wife Lysa, of Texas, Don McDonald and wife Linda, of Texas; great-uncle Joe McCowan, Mead; cousin Jolene Reid, also of Mead; and a host of friends. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Old Talihina Cemetery, Talihina. Pallbearers include: Shorty Mitchell, Joe Bill Ingram, Daylin Hash, Frank Birdsong, Scott Robinson and Jeremy Smith. Honorary pallbearers include: Jim McCarty, J.A. Smith, Boots Wylie, Paul Neal, Glenn Marlow, David Nowell, C.D. Castleberry and Judge Jefferies.
