All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily Democrat 20 Apr 2005 Michel, Patricia Kay (Maupin) 49 Services for Patricia Kay (Maupin) Michel, 49, Durant, who went to be with her Heavenly Father, Friday, April 15, 2005, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday at Brown's Funeral Chapel. Rev Michael Calhoun will officiate. Patricia was born March 9, 1956, in Durant to Aldon and Billie Mae Maupin. Patricia married James Edward Laymon July 20, 1971. Together they had one son, James Alton. In 1978, she married James Ray Michel. Patricia loved being with her family and her two beloved dogs, Molly and Hoss Michel. Patricia's favorite times were spent with her family. Birthday parties, Christmas, Easter, and family vacations she enjoyed immensely. She had many interests, some of which included going on family vacations, fishing, collecting pigs, making people laugh and spending time with her many friends. Patricia had a unique ability of being able to connect with special people and small children. She will be deeply missed by all of the lives she has touched and changed with her humor, jolly laugh, bright smile, extraordinary personality and her heart of gold. Patricia was a member of Platter Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Edna Melton; grandparents, Bill and Pearl Maupin; younger brother Aldon Eugene Maupin; and dear friend Patrick Vaughn Hoffman. Survivors include husband James Ray Michel; parents Aldon and Billie Mae Maupin; son James Alton Laymon and his wife Lisa; sisters, Carolyn Beshires and husband Geary, Margaret Shadden and husband Christopher, and baby sister Michelle Thompson; grandchildren Ashley Elaine and Alton Ryan Laymon; nephews and nieces, Robert Howell, Geary Beshirs II, Jeremy Howell, Lacey Ann Thompson, Lyncara Beshirs, and Aaron Thompson; great- niece, Shaley Michelle; great-nephews, Randen Lane and Kadon Don Gibson; and a host of dear friends and extended family. Family hour will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery with Geary Beshirs, Billy Wayne Cooper, Terry Manners, Johnny Varner, Jason Burwick and Aaron Thompson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Nunny White, Buddy Wynne, Robert Manners, Michael Manners and Calvin Hartigan. Condolences may be sent to the family at brownsfs@sbcglobal.net.
