Family hour is 3-4 p.m. Sunday at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. ================== Durant Daily Democrat Sunday, January 25, 2004 Monday, January 26, 2004 Rubie Adelia McClendon, 96 A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Durant First Baptist Church for Rubie Adelia McClendon, 96, who passed from this life Jan. 21, 2004, in Irving, Texas. The Rev. James Robinson will officiate. She was born Jan. 31, 1908, in Argyle, Texas, to John James and Myrtle Mabry (Sanderson) Cahill. She married William R. McClendon, Oct 28, 1926, in Waxahachie, Texas. The moved to Healdton that year, where Mr. McClendon was employed by the Magnolia Oil Company (Mobil). Mrs. McClendon worked for the Red River Chili Company in Healdton for many years. They moved to Durant in 1971, where she worked for King’s Daughters and Sons Nursing Home until her retirement. She was a member of the Durant First Baptist Church, a member of the Durant Delphians, Past Matron of Honor of the Healdton Order of the Eastern Star, and Past Matron of Honor of the Durant Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband William; son James Dale; sisters Ruth McClendon, Rosa Riley, Revia Grady, Rita Magdelino, and brothers Rufus, Roy, Robert, and Raymond Cahill preceded her in death. Pallbearers will be Tim Laughlin, Doyle McClendon, Mare McClendon, Michael McClendon, Randal McClendon, Scott McClendon and Woody McClendon. Family hour will be 3-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be in the Healdton Mt. Olive Cemetery at 2 p.m. Monday.
