The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ===================================================================== Obit for Joy Kay MILLS Joy Kay Mills Joy Kay Mills, a long time Winters resident, passed away while at Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento on July 23, 2002. Born Dec. 29, 1934 to Russell and Minnie Hicks in Yuba, OK she was 67 years old. Mrs. Mills was one of four children. She was married to Hugh B. Mills "Tiny" June 14, 1952 and the two resided in Richmond for a short time before moving to Lake Tahoe. In 1960, they moved to Winters to raise their two girls. For approximately 20 years, she was employed as a CNA for several of the area?s convalescent hospitals. Her longest tenure was at Alderson?s Convalescent Hospital in Woodland. She was well known and liked by her community and she was very devoted to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Mills was predeceased by her husband on January 1, 1981. She is survived by her daughters Pamela K. Gilliam of Burson, and Debra Walker of Winters, and grandchildren, Edward R. Mills of Winters, Charlotte Peifer of Lodi, and Mathew and Tiffany Walker of Winters, brother Billy R. Hicks of Davis and sisters Ellen Rutledge of Dixon and Esther Brewer of Winters. Three great grandchildren also survive her. Friends are respectfully invited to attend a graveside service for Mrs. Hicks on Friday, Aug. 2, at the Capay Cemetery, located at Highway 16 in Capay at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith's Colonial Chapel.
