All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily Democrat 29 Dec 2004 Donald Melton, 70 Services for Donald Melton, 70, Silo, who died December 27, 2004, at his residence are pending with Brown's Funeral Service of Durant. ========= Durant Daily Democrat 30 Dec 2004 Donald Ray Melton, 70 Services for Donald Ray Melton, 70, Durant, who passed away Monday, December 27, 2004, at his residence, will be held in the Brown's Funeral Service Chapel Thursday, December 30, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Roger McCoy will officiate. Donald was born July 14, 1934, in Chattanooga, Oklahoma, to Possey Aster and Minnie Pearl (McMaster) Melton. He was born and raised in Oklahoma where he attended Blue High School. Donald married Jerry Ann Melton September 19, 1959, in Armstrong. He owned and operated Melton's Auto Seat Covers, and he raised horses and cattle. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Jerry Ann, and three brothers, Possey Melton, Hubert Melton and Jack Melton. He is survived by his son, Gary Don Melton of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters Trula Counts of Bridgeport, Texas, Geneve Gargal and husband Glenn of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and Mary Mullens and husband R.W of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; and brothers Robert Melton and wife Lona, and Jacob Melton and wife Donna, all of Chickasha, Oklahoma. Internment will be in Caddo Cemetery with Allen Melton, Dennis Horn, Raymond L. Burr, Buddy R. Burr, Raymond O. Burr, Bill Iker and Dan Estel serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Gomar Eddins and Junior Taylor Family hour will be today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
