Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Perkins, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Miller was born in Bokchito, Okla. He had been a Panhandle resident since 1944, moving from Chillicothe. He retired as a warehouseman for J.M. Huber Corp. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Laverne Collins in 1944 at Panhandle. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by a son, Joe Don Miller, in 1980. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sally Elizabeth Miller of Canyon; two brothers, Paul Miller and Don Miller, both of Odessa; and five sisters, Lometa Doss of Vera, Dorothy Beam and Wanell Gore, both of Odessa, Doris Rice of Marble Falls and Sue Forrest of Kerrville. The family requests memorials be to the First Baptist Church building fund in Panhandle; Texas Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 5665, Lubbock, Texas 79408-5665; or the Chrysalis Scholarship Fund c/o Savoy Bradley, 6404 Cromwell Drive, Amarillo, Texas 79109.
