Family hour will be 7-8 p.m. Monday at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. ========= Durant Daily Democrat 15 Feb 2005 Jim Minchey, 80 A service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Faith Baptist Church in Bokchito for Jim Minchey, 80, Bokchito, who passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, in Bokchito. Rev. Guy Milazzo and Dillard Davis will officiate. He was born Saturday, Sept. 6, 1924, in Bailey, Texas, to James Floyd and Lillian Pearl (Cox). He married Marjorie Smith July 22, 1974, in Dallas, Texas. He was of the Baptist faith and was a truck driver who loved telling jokes, going fishing, driving trucks and being around his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Jean Wallace, Frances Miller, Hazel Haggard; grandson Chad Whitworth; and niece Janice Holloway. He is survived by his wife of the home; sons Larry and wife Arlene Minchey, Soper, Shawn Minchey, Bokchito, B.B. and wife Selina Melton, Celina, Texas; daughters Kim and husband Ronnie Pierce, Boswell, Shannon Minchey and fiancé Richard Whitfield, Durant; sister Joyce Davis, Sherman, Texas; brothers Tom Minchey, Garland, Texas, Elbert and wife Carol Minchey, Minnesota; special friends Mitzi Harp, Bokchito, Dillard and Eunice Davis, Calera; grandsons Jeffery Jackson, Boswell, James Riley Minchey, Durant, David and Emmet Minchey, Soper, James Paul Minchey, Colbert, Dusty Melton, Celina; granddaughters Shelby and Lyndsay Jackson, Boswell, Chelsea and Chasity Watkins, Celina, Whitney Melton, Celina, Tonya Minchey, Soper, Lisa Whitworth, Leonard, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Bokchito Cemetery with pallbearers Joey Williams, Josh Williams, Chris Roberts, Ryan Lahman, Nate Knopes and Blake Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Dillard Davis, Albert Knight, Richard Whitfield and Ronnie Pierce. Family hour will be from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
