All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily Democrat 25 Aug 2005 Debra 'Debbie' Kay Mimms, 49 Services for Debra "Debbie" Kay Mimms, 49, of Durant, who passed away, Sunday, August 21, 2005 in Plano, Texas, will be 10 a.m., Thursday at River of Life Church in Durant. Johnny Hudson will officiate. Debbie was born June 15, 1956, in Durant to Houston Elberg and Bessie Ann (McCarty) Holder. Debbie attended school in Durant and married Charles Mimms September 18, 1976 in Durant. She worked as an accountant in the Army - Air Force Exchange Service in Dallas, Texas, for 19 years. She retired in 2000. Debbie was a charter member of River of Life Church and her hobbies included reading, traveling, old movies and family. Debbie was the baby of ten kids. She was an amazing, wonderful, and devoted sister, mother, daughter, wife, and sister-in-law. Debbie was a true kindred spirit that would stop on a dime to lend a hand to help anyone. She loved to read and spend time with her beloved family. She was a fun loving woman that loved to travel to many places with her family. She loved to spend time with her husband Charles, and daughters Leigh-Anna and Lynnsey. What she most looked forward to was the birth of her new grandchild. Debbie is one of God's angels that was allowed to live with us for as long as she could. She is now in her heavenly home smiling down on us every step of the way. Her name, legacy and life will live in our hearts forever and she will always be remembered for her grace, stamina, fire for life and her ability to touch the life of anyone she came into contact with. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Bessie Holder; sisters, Melba Ruth Holder and Jody Shinn; and mother-in-law Ruby Lee Mimms. Survivors include husband, Charles Julian Mimms, Durant; son Stephen Dewayne Mimms, Dallas; daughters, Leigh-Anna Kay Mimms and fiancée Richie Mazzone, Durant, and Lynnsey Elmina Mimms, Durant; sisters, Carolyn House and husband Wesley, Wanda Harmon and husband Don, Linda Howell and husband Charles, and Donna Holder, all of Durant; brothers, Buddy Holder and wife Virginia, Jesse Holder and wife Rhonda, and Larry Holder, all of Durant; and many other relatives and friends. The funeral home will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., today and Wednesday for visitation. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Mazzone, Don Harmon, Wes House, Charlie Blomquist, Steve Brannon and Darrell Hobbs. Condolences may be sent to the family at brownsfs@sbcglobal.net.
