Friday, December 5, 2003 Durant Daily Democrat Verta Mae Nazworth, 93 A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Coffey-Murray Funeral Chapel for Verta Mae Nazworth, 93, Calera, who died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at Calera Manor Nursing Home. The Rev. Ross Kirven will officiate. She was born Monday, Oct. 17, 1910, in Louisiana, to Sidney T. and Ella (Brewer) Carstarphen. She married Henry Malcolm Nazworth, July 22, 1928, in Cove, Ark. She was a member of the Eastside Presbyterian Church and Home Demonstration Club. She was very active in her church, teaching Sunday School classes and doing whatever was needed of her. Sewing, gardening, flowers and crocheting were some of the things she enjoyed doing. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Nov. 21, 1986; granddaughter Kathryn E. Lindsey, and brothers Samuel B. and J.B. Carstarphen. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with pallbearers Johnny Keithley, Joe Harp, Delton Levins, Tony Morrison, J.R. Phillips and Hop Phillips.
