All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily Democrat 7 Jan 2005 Sammie Joe Norman, 61 A memorial service for Sammie Joe Norman, 61, Calera, who died at his residence, Friday, December 31, 2004, will be held in the Brown's Funeral Service Chapel, Friday, January 7, 2005, at 3:30 p.m. Van Newton will officiate. Sammie was born October 9, 1943, in Ely, Texas, to Joe Norman and Oma Lee (Smith) Norman. He came to Oklahoma in 1994. He was married to Hallana Pearson in Sherman, Texas, on February 14, 1997. He served his country in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967. Sammie was a welder for May Fabricating. He loved to fish and hunt when he had the opportunity. He was really happy to have a place of his own in the country. He will be greatly missed by his friends from work and his family. Sammie was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Oma Lee Norman. He is survived by his wife Hallana of the home in Calera; daughters Chawnae Norman of Calera and her husband Roger Bryant of Korea, Tracie Lamb and her husband Jason of Mena, Arkansas, Michelle Norman, Samantha Norman and Sandra Stevenson, all of Lamasco, Texas, and Jallana Stone and husband Lee of Arlington, Texas; step-sisters Ruth Ann Capehart and Lou Price; uncle Jake Norman of Southmayd, Texas; aunts Rosie Johnson and Mary Norman of Denison, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
