All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Rose Hill Cemetery--Cleburne TX Durant Daily Democrat 16 Mar 2005 Velma Berlin (Johnson) Pipes Velma Berlin (Johnson) Pipes was born in Granbury, Texas, on Nov. 10, 1919 and died in Durant, Oklahoma on March 13, 2005. She was the daughter of L. B. Johnson and Daisy (Ard) Johnson, and the sister of Thelma Stepp, Jewel Rowland, and Lola Gatton. Following high school graduation, she attended Texas Women's University for one year. On September 8, 1939, she married R. B. Pipes. She and her husband and their two children moved to the Coleman community in 1951. She was an active member of the Coleman Baptist Church throughout her life in Coleman. She enjoyed reading, walking, driving in the country, drinking hot tea, and visiting with friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, R. B., and by her sisters. She is survived by her two children, Randolph Pipes (Daughter-in-law, Anne Penney) of Auburn, Alabama, and Darlene Lorenz, (Son-in-law, Glen Lorenze) of Arlington, Texas, by three grandchildren, Randall Krebbs, Kristina Krebbs, and Gregory Pipes, and by five nieces and one nephew. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-7 p.m., March 15, 2005, at the Coffey Murray Funeral Home. Services will be held in the Coleman Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2005, The Rev. Richard Gentry will officiate.
