Survivors omitted. Durant Daily Democrat Sunday, January 11, 2004 Lou Ellen Pawley, 94 A service will be 2 pm. Monday at Church of Christ in Caddo for Lou Ellen Pawley, 94, former Bryan County resident, who died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at Inola Health Care Center in Inola. Bro. Ray L. Mayhue will officiate. The daughter of Berl and Missouri Ann (Troxell) Mitchel, she was born Friday, Jan. 7, 1910, in Van Alstyne, Texas. She was a homemaker and loved to work in her flower garden. She loved cooking, canning, sewing and decorating her home. Mrs. Pawley was a member of the Bryan County RSVP and received an award for her service. She was active in the Bryan County Home Demonstration Group and received awards for her canning and quilting. She was an active member of Woodmen of the World. She always volunteered to help the needy. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Caddo. Preceding her in death were her parents, husbands Ray Holt, Jack Elliott and F.B. Pawley; children Doris Aline Holt; Mary Ellen Lee, Jackie Charles Elliott, David Weldon Holt; sisters Alma Ledbetter, Ruby Hansen, Aline Peters, and brother Jimmy Blakney. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Durant, with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Family hour is 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
