Powell, Geneva 1914 - 2004

Geneva Powell, 90, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, in Burleson.

Funeral: Noon Thursday at Fireside Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove, with 
the Rev. Jack Rodgers, officiating. Graveside service: 3 p.m. in the 
Leonard Cemetery in Leonard.

Geneva Powell was born March 22, 1914, in Farmersville, the daughter of 
Walter Alford Johnson and Vessie Phillips Johnson. She married R.C. Rogers 
in Durant, Okla. She was a member of Fireside Baptist Church and was a 
cook at a retirement hotel.

Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law, George H. and Gloria Rogers of 
Burleson; brother, Leon Johnson of Baker, La.; two granddaughters; six 
great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
