All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily-Democrat 13 Dec 2004 Mary Adeline Power, 90 Services are pending with Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home for Mary Adeline Power, 90, Caddo, who died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, in Caddo Nursing Home. ========= Durant Daily-Democrat 15 Dec 2004 Mary Adeline Boland Power, 90 A service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Williams Catholic Church for Mary Adeline Boland Power, 90, Caddo, who died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Caddo Nursing Home. Father Valerian Gonzalves will officiate. She was born Friday, Feb. 6, 1914, in Caddo to John L. Boland and Elizabeth M. Turnbull. She married William Horace Power Aug. 17, 1937, in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Caddo. She worked for the Durant Daily Democrat and Caddo Herald from 1935-1941. She moved to McAlester in February 1947 and owned the McAlester Business College until 1952. She taught at St. John's Catholic School, McAlester Junior High and Puterbaugh Middle School until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the St. John's Altar Society, the Pittsburg County Retired Teacher's Association and the McAlester Fortnightly Club. She graduated from Caddo Public School in 1931 and Southeastern State College in 1935. She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters Margarette and Zulcika and brother Jack. She is survived by sons John Charles Power, Chicago, Ill., Dr. Willliam Lloyd Power, Albuquerque, N.M., and James Edmond Power, Lawrence, Kan.; granddaughters Celeste and Corina, both of Albuquerque; and niece Marry Jo Summerville, Irving, Texas. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Caddo. Family hour will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1 N.
