All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily Democrat 22 Dec 2004 Golden (Weaver) Proctor, 83 A service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fairview Baptist Church, Durant, for Golden (Weaver) Proctor, 83, Durant, who died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at her residence. Rev. Darrell Edwards will officiate. She was born Nov. 27, 1921, in Blue to Woodson W. and Bessie (Dowling) Weaver. She married J.C. Proctor Aug. 18, 1941, in Caddo. She retired from Levi Strauss after 17 years of service. She work in the Green Thumb Program at Caddo City Hall and Physical Rehabilitation Professionals Inc. after retirement. She loved to work in her vegetable garden and can produce, exercise by walking with her neighbors, work in the yard and grow flowers and to make beautiful quilts, two of which won first place in the 2004 Caddo Heritage Day Quilting Category. She loved her children and grandchildren, loved for family and friends to visit and eat and drink coffee with her and loved reading the Bible and attending Sunday School and church. She donated handmade quilts to raise money for the Caddo Nutrition Center, Caddo Heritage Day Festival and any other worthwhile cause. She received the Citizenship Award in 1994 from the Caddo Community Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandson Brandson Scott Proctor. She is survived by sons Larry Proctor and wife Betty, Dallas, Texas, and Lyndell Proctor and wife Billie, Mead; daughters Betty Brown and husband Roger, Madill, and Shirley Ray and husband Baker, Durant; grandchildren Ronald Brown and wife Elaine, Frisco, Texas, Ellen Proctor, Mesquite, Texas, Landry Ray and wife Monica, Dallas, Regan Brown and wife Jenna, Madill, Bryan Proctor and wife Patty, Keller, Texas, Angela Ray, Arlington, Texas, Chase Proctor and wife Brenda, Mead, and Shacole Proctor, Mead; great-granddaughter Ericka Valencia, Keller; sisters Opal Morrison, Oklahoma City, Joyce Hendrix and husband Marvin, Collinsville, Texas, Donna Jones and husband J.T., Yukon, and Judy Oden and husband Larry, Blanchard; and two great-grandchildren on the way. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill, Armstrong, with pallbearers Ronald Brown, Regan Brown, Bryan Proctor, Landry Ray, Chase Proctor and Shacole Proctor. Family hour is from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
