John L. Purdy Jr

MULESHOE - John L. Purdy Jr., 73, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. 
Stacy Conner, pastor of First Baptist Church of Muleshoe, officiating. 
Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Purdy was born in Mead, Okla., and moved to Muleshoe from Littlefield 
in 1956. During World War II, he served in the Army. He was a cotton 
ginner and member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign wars.

He married Frances Waxler in 1947 at Littlefield. He was preceded in death 
by a son, Cary Purdy, in 1997.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Bruce Purdy of Muleshoe; and three 
grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to American Heart Association or the 
American Cancer Society.
